Gamekyo.com launches

We are very proud to announce today the launch of the new English version of the site called Gamekyo.com, the social video game magazine.

Here's a list of some services that Gamekyo users will be able to use from their account :

- Your profile : you can tag yourself and find other users with the same tags, add your friends, follow interesting users, update your blog, upload your medias…

- My Home is a page where you can see your feeds, and also your friend cloud : your best friends on Gamekyo will appear with a bigger profile photo.

- Groups will give you the opportunity to post articles in a "small collaborative space" (add new bloggers, channel discussion…).

- Friendstream gives you the possibility to follow your friends lifestream. Groupstream is basically the same thing but with the posts coming from your favourite groups (channels) on Gamekyo.

- Gamekyo iPhone version will give you the ability to locate your friends nearby : you can actually locate yourself by choosing a location (or adding a new one in your list). This current location will be then attached to your new posts in your lifestream, so now your friends will know from where you are sending this post. This system also enables you to see on a map where are your friends nearby (to eventually meet them). We are working to make this process of geolocalisation automatic in the future, it is definitely one of our priority (among opening our service to other websites and applications, open social…).

Nice one! Jeux-France was always my first port of call to catch up on the daily video game news. One thing though, as you guys are now trying to make the big sell to an English speaking audience (predominantly the US and UK) maybe you ought to cut back a little on the amount of coverage dedicated to Japanese RPG's as was the case with Jeux France. Interest in that particular genre isn't as high here as you may think. Apart from that, I'm delighted with the new site.

Hi dick, thanks for posting. Indeed, gamekyo team really likes RPG and Japanese games in general, we're not going to hide this, but we will try to focus on other kinds with this new version. We'll try to be faster and more exhaustive this time

I think it's a great idea that you decided to make an English version of the website, even though I'm not to keen on the name - however will it be possible for English gamers to still access the French version of the site, as the bloggers on the Jeux-France are usually the fastest people to get the news out on the net, and unfortunately the English version doesn't have the bloggers to post the updates yet. And keep on posting news about JRPG's, I love them and this is probably one of the most reliable websites for RPG news on the net - in fact I own a Square Enix fansite and I use this place as my source for all my news posts. Anyway, is there anyway for users to access the French version of the site?

Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé? Ce site était en français! La version française est-elle encore disponible? Il y a trop de sites en anglais.

wow, this is quite a shock! thank you very much for making an English version, I always relied on Jeux-France and my little knowledge of French to stay updated on video game news, you always have things first and the most amount of information! and please do keep the information about RPGs, I know very few people in the US & UK are interested in that, but there's always the small majority (like me)!

Hell yes! I loved Newtechnix, then jeux-france and now gamekyo! It's in english which is a bonus. You guys are awesome. Keep up the great work.

Calmanny calmanny, je suis absolument en d'accord. I came to jeux-france because it was gaming news written originally in French. Now it's been watered down by some machine translated garbage... Supportez des sites francais (ou autres langues international)
